Dr. Barack studied Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University, before being accepted to the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry in 1978. After completing his doctoral studies, Dr. Barack opted to pursue further education in the field of Periodontics, completing a residency at University of Illinois at Chicago in 1984. He received his Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology in 1991. While at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Dr. Barack served as an Assistant Clinical Professor for the College of Dentistry from 1983 to 1995.

Dr. Chander Gupta is excited to join the Old Orchard Periodontics Family! A native of the North Shore, Dr. Gupta grew up in Highland Park, studied Economics at Northwestern University and received his dental degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He then further enhanced his education by completing a residency in Periodontology and Oral Implantology at Temple University, where he received training in all aspects of periodontal therapy, with a particular emphasis on the soft and hard tissue reconstruction for dental implant rehabilitation.
Dr. Barack has been practicing periodontics since 1994. His research has been published in peer-reviewed dental journals and he lectures about periodontics and implant dentistry to local professional organizations. Dr. Barack has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since 1991. Dr. Barack has focused his periodontal practice to implant surgery and supportive reconstructive surgical procedures. One of Dr. Barack’s priorities is staying abreast of the latest research and treatment modalities available in implant dentistry today.
